Welcome to Center for Large Scale Integrated Optimization & Networks. The mission of CLION is the development of innovative solutions to large-scale networks and optimization problems in various defense and civilian applications, and in biomedical research areas. CLION is based on an interdisciplinary and diverse research team comprising University of Memphis faculty and students including Mathematical Sciences (MSCI), Computer Sciences (CS), Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering (EECE), as well as external collaborators and agencies including FedEx, Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Army Research Office (ARO), and NASA. CLION provides University of Memphis students with research expertise in cutting-edge technologies, which provides them with a competitive advantage in the job market. CLION aims at becoming a regional and national center of excellence in large-scale networks and advanced intelligent optimization, capable of attracting and supporting large size multi-institution and multiuniversity research projects, and facilitating the commercialization of the products.

News

September 24-25, 2009: CLION09 Symposium
The Symposium marked the official opening of CLION. 35+ attendees represented UoM founding members and our external collaborators and partners.


January 22-23, 2009: Radar Workshop
The Workshop has been organized by ARFL, Sensors Directorate, Hanscom AFB, MA. Dr. Rob Linnehan (HAFB/RYHE) and Dr. Ross Deming (GDIT) gave talks on theoretical basics and practical aspects of radar teechnology. 'Ice-cube' radar transceivers have been provided and their operation demonstrated by AFRL experts.
